BHSA’s Junior Devil program is an introduction to the sport of ice hockey. Led by professional hockey instructors from the Tier1 Hockey School, children will be taught basic hockey skills. The aim of the program is to provide a fun environment for all participants to learn the basics of the game. Players will have 50 minutes of on ice instruction on Saturdays and Sundays from November through March. Typically these both start off as skill based instruction and eventually as players are acclimated they will be split into teams for mini scrimmages on Sundays.
Practices are formatted using small area station-based drills where each child will rotate through each drill working on a variety of skills. Games are played using cross ice format. The format used for both practices and games allows for more puck touches, less waiting, and higher repetition of each drill, allowing for the best environment for kids to develop.
The 2024-2025 Season will begin after the Bruins LTP session concludes. This makes the first Junior Devils session on Saturday 11/2. Sessions will run into March.
